Where Does JMU Rank?

Glad you asked. Let’s get to it.

Preseason FCS Sports Network poll: 6th

FCS Coaches’ Poll: 6th

My heart: 1st

And this seems like the perfect time to discuss where JMU was picked to finish this year in the CAA (yes, I know this news originally was released back in July, but this blog didn’t exist yet, so, there).

Richmond, the defending National Champion, returns 18 starters this year, was picked (co-picked?) to share the CAA title with Villanova this season. Also, New Hampshire was selected to defend their North Division title from last year. JMU was picked to finish third in the CAA South Division (behind Richmond and Nova). How hard is the CAA? — JMU, considered to be the sixth best team in the country, is expected to finish third in their own division.

The Dukes also placed three players on the Preseason All-Conference Team: OL Dorian Brooks, DL Arthur Moats and ‘Return Specialist’ and all-around provider of mind-bendingly awesome plays, Scotty McGee (jump ahead to the 2:00 mark).
